THE NEW HOT 100 GALLERY HOT 100 GALLERY
I have been working on this project
for quite some time now.
Many have asked me over the years
if my photos are available for purchase, but it has
taken me a while to weed through
about a third of my pictures and proof them for sales purposes.
I am picky.
In order for a picture to qualify
for inclusion in the Hot 100 Gallery it must be unique enough
that I say to myself "holy ____!"
or "Unbelievable!!!" or "Man, was I lucky to get that!"
and a name presents itself
when I look at the original RAW file.
Sometimes the name comes to me
at the moment I take the shot.
(Yes, I shoot with a Digital SLR camera and only
in RAW mode which is
roughly the digital equivalent of a film negative.
I use a variety of Nikon lenses, no filters.)
RAW files have the ability to be
processed in a manner similar to a film negative
in that attributes such as contrast,
saturation, and sharpness can be adjusted
in the digital or chemical darkroom
without altering the original file/negative.
These are the only kind of adjustments
that I make to the photographs before
sending them to the lab for printing.
No digital trickery is used. No
faces are created with Photoshop!
No photos are taken from areas which
are closed to the public by the Park Service
and no photos are taken from a
location which is unsafe for the photographer.
I carry a big lens which allows
me to get shots that look like I took a risk,
but my motto in the lava field
has always been
"Live to shoot another day..."

my work,
all of the photos in the Hot 100
Gallery are available as 5x7's and 8x10's.
5x7's are not pre-matted,
but come with a backing board and a descriptive blurb
inside a clear protective poly
bag.
The cost is $12.50 which includes
1st Class Mail within the U.S.
8x10's are available packaged in
the same manner as the 5x7's , the price is $27.50
which includes 1st Class Mail within
the U.S.
8x10's are also available pre-matted
if you prefer, and you will find the mat color listed in the code
chart
linked below. The mat and backing
materials are acid-free.
Black mats have a white core, white
mats have a black core. They fit an 11x14 frame.
Matted 8x10's cost $37.50 which
includes 1st Class Mail within the U.S.
Most, but not all, can be printed
in much larger sizes (16x20, 20x30...) on request.

to request a full sized 5x7 or 8x10 sample to be emailed to you,
but it will have a watermark.
All prints are made in a professional
photo lab and are done on Kodak Endura paper,
primarily Lustre but there are
about 10 photos so far which look better on Metallic paper.

Until I figure out an internet payment
system that will work for Primitive Image,
ordering is only by mail, and payment
by check or money order.
You should write down the name of
the print(s) you would like, the size of the print,
and in the case of 8x10's specify
either matted or unmatted.
