A lava junkie
is a person who has experienced, often only at arm's length,
the awesome
spectacle of new earth being created before their eyes
and who then
returns again and again to witness the constantly changing landscape.
For the fortunate
few that means a nightly vigil to view the ever changing lava flows.
For others it
means a return visit once a week, or month, or year, or...
No matter what
the frequency of your visits, the hot stuff is addictive to most of those
who travel from
around the world to get a first hand glimpse
of what is possibly
the world's most active, yet safest, of volcanoes:
Kilauea.
Thanks to the
internet you too can become a lava junkie
without melting
or otherwise wearing out your shoes,
but a personal
experience is highly recommended!
